Early September is still travel time in Rostock, so many hotels and pensions are already quite heavily booked. Please book you accommodation in advance. Hotels at different price levels can be found and booked via the common hotel booking portals thru the internet, e.g.

For all participants who like to stay at the baltic sea. Please also check out hotels and pensions in Warnemünde. There is an easy access to the conference location via commuter railway system (approx. 20 minutes).

Flight information for international guests

Currently the connections between Rostock airport to the national hubs are established for the needs of tourists. This means most of the air traffic is on the weekends.
Direct and daily flight connections to the major hubs in Munich and Frankfurt as well as Kopenhagen will be provided by a new airline, called Rostock Airways this summer. Unfortunately you may book the flight connections thru the internet as early as May 2013. Further information will be provided as soon as possible.

Alternatively the closest airports to Rostock are Hamburg (HAM) and Berlin (TXL). The train will take you within 2 - 3 hours to Rostock. Nevertheless there are several flight options from Rostock Airport available:
  • If you plan your flight via Munich (MUC), you may stay through Saturday 7.9.2013, departure 09:10.
  • If you plan your flight via Düsseldorf (DUS), you may stay through Saturday 7.9.2013, departure 12:05.
  • If you plan your flight via Cologne (CGN), your flight connection will be on Friday 6.9.2013, departure 20:00.
  • If you plan your flight via Zurich (ZRH), you may stay through Sunday 8.9.2013, departure 20:45.

Special information for all participants who plan to visit also the Photogrammetric Week in Stuttgart. There are direct flight connections from Rostock (RLG) to Stuttgart (STR) on Friday 6.9.2013, departure 14:15 and Sunday 8.9.2013, departure 17:10.


For non EU foreigners a visa is required for stays in Germany. A visa is not required for semi-annual visits of up to 90 days for nationals of those countries for which the European Community has abolished the visa requirement.

The necessary Letter of Invitation to the conference will be sent to you on request after we have received your payments.
